I am deeply attracted to statues of the Buddha and the tranquility they emit. This is the first of a whole series of paintings of Buddha statues in the hopes of sharing the Peace that they bring to the observer. This particular piece is painted in high contrast of butter golden yellow against the luscious violet and lavendar shadows....I love the effect.
