I create murals in several ways: 1. prep and paint directly on the wall , 2. paint on a large canvas (72" size restraints) or several large pieces to create the feel of one big piece, 3. paint on MDF board (medium density fiber board) which comes in 8' x 4' sheets which is cut to fit your space, attached to the wall with seams and holes filled and painted over. The amount of detail greatly influences the time therefore the cost of creating a mural. Below are samples with completion times to give you a frame of reference.

For this windowless office space I created a faux window glimpsing on a birch tree forest on the far wall and a tree lined road painting placed over the sofa. The clients love birch trees and the road relates to the name of their business. Sofa and carpet colors were incorporated into the paintings. I also removed the mauve wallpaper and repainted the lower portion of the walls with a multi tone forest green wash to tie the whole room together.

The two paintings and wall took 15 hours to complete.

This scene was created from more than 10 photos of my clients' favorite place in Maui where they were married. Instead of painting on the walls I created a double triptych so they could have the feel of the mural but still take the canvases with them when they leave the office space.

This acrylic painting was done on a 4' x 5' canvas which feels like a mural on this wall. The clients love cockatoos and live in Florida. The colors in the background tie into the colors of their living room. The cuddliness of the birds "feels" like the clients...as they are a very sweet and affectionate couple.

	This little guy painted with oils was part of a rosa rugosa mural I painted along a set of stairs in a Hyannis beach house. I thought he would be so cute hiding in the beach grass at the foot of the stairs. As you can see there are benifits to painting directly on the walls...see how the grass is cascading over the trim board.
